About Mr. Sayre

A native of south Minneapolis, Mr. Sayre is the Director of Bands & Jazz I at Minneapolis South High School. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in instrumental music education from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Mr. Sayre is an active trumpet and piano player around the Twin Cities, a composer and arranger, and an advocate for the developmental benefits of music education. Besides teaching at South, Mr. Sayre also is the founder and Executive Director of the Guyana Lutheran Music Academy, a Minneapolis-based non-profit that supports a school of music
