Spring break remains scheduled for March 30-April 3. School will resume, Monday, April 6, under a distance learning model. More information to come.

Need a Chromebook?

Students who need a Chromebook for distance learning, please complete the MPS technology form or call 612.668.0000. MPS is distributing laptops this week. Here's the plan for getting them to students who need them.

Devices available for Spring Break Academy

Students registered for Spring Break Academy will take classes online, March 30-April 3. Devices, for students who need them, are available for pick up at South High: Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on the 19th Avenue side of the building. Bring ID.

SHS Math Center help available over Spring Break

The Math Center will be open ONLINE for Spring Break Academy participants, March 30 - April 3. Visit the Math Center Online webpage for details.

Get MPS meals over spring break

Through Friday, March 27, students can continue to pick up breakfast and lunch meals, daily, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at school sites. However, next week, Monday, March 30, students will be able to do a weekly pick-up of 10 meals. Pick-up sites include all current MPS meal sites.

Look for the red MPS Food Truck

Families can now pick up food for their children at these non-school sites Monday through Friday. Food is available to any child 18 years and younger. Children must be present to receive food. Look for the red truck!  

  • Mary's Place (401 North 7th St); 10-10:45 a.m.
  • Brian Coyle Center (420 S. 15th Ave.); 11:15 a.m. -  Noon
  • Willard Park (1626 Queen Ave. N.); 12:30 - 1:15 p.m.

Quarter 3 extended; quarter 4 shortened

To regain lost instructional days due to the COVID school closure, MPS has restructured the school calendar, giving students back lost days to finish the third quarter.
Also, there's a new time frame for quarter 4.

  • Thursday, April 16 - End of quarter 3
  • Friday, April 17 - Teacher record-keeping
  • Monday, April 20 - Beginning of quarter 4
  • Friday, June 5 - End of quarter 4
