South High undergoes summer makeover

It's the summer of South! The building and campus will be closed to usual summer activity, so upgrades like solar tubes and LED's can bring new light to the 2019-20 school year and beyond. Completion is expected Wednesday Aug. 14. See details in FAQs.

South's Otiso presents Crimes of the Heart

Tonight's the first in a three-night run of "Crimes of the Heart," directed by senior Natashia Otiso. Seating is limited, reserve yours now for May 22, 23, or 24 (Wednesday-Friday) performances, 7 p.m. |  Admission: $8-students; $10-adults.

Books are due!

Tigers, please gather all books on loan from classroom teachers and the library, and prepare to return. Seniors, your due date is this Thursday, in time for Friday senior check day, when you will be called down alphabetically, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hours.

  • Seniors: classroom texts and library books are due tomorrow, Thursday, May 23.
  • Underclassmen (9th, 10th, 11th graders) library books are due Friday, May 24
  • Underclassmen classroom texts are due Thursday, May 30.

H-art unveils mural work, May 29

South High, join dignitary Senator Patricia Torres Ray in witnessing the unveiling of South High's next mural masterpiece, Wednesday, May 29, 1 p.m. at the Welcome Desk entrance--a work gifted to SHS by the H-art class under guidance of muralist Peyton Scott Russell.

Spanish debate ends season with double wins

SHS Spanish Debate, finished their first season at the Highland Park tourney with 1st place wins for Mateo Perez-Novice Speaker and Melissa Flores-Advanced Speaker." Marcia Marquez and Leslie Ponce also picked up honors. Topic: "Harms, benefits of DNA manipulation."
