Biking to school

South has bikes racks! However, please remember to properly secure their bikes to prevent theft:

  • Use a “kryptonite” type lock
  • Lock the rear tire to the stand

  • Use a cable lock to lock the front and rear tires together.

  • Bike helmets are also important for your safety

Licensed students may drive to school. However, be aware parking is limited.

  • There is no student parking in the South parking lot.

Students are expected to walk to school, if they reside 0 to 2 miles from South High School.

  • Always use the “WALK” button for safety - which gets you more time to cross: 41.5 seconds vs 18.5 seconds.
  • Mind the light rail cross bars.
  • Stick to the sidewalks, avoid traffic congestion in the staff parking lot.
