Music
The South High Music program, a recipient of many awards, is dedicated to helping students grow in their musical ability and knowledge. South’s ensembles strive to perform at the highest level possible so they may share their talents and music with others. South music directors believe there is great opportunity to learn skills that will help students become better people and continue performing and enjoying music well beyond high school.

Theater
The South High Theater Program includes the production of classics from Shakespeare to musicals, and student-written and directed one-act plays. Senior directed full-length works complete a program for students interested in acting, directing, writing, administrating, designing, or crewing.

Visual Arts
Visual Arts team focusing on cermaics, sculpture, drawing, painting and graphics helps students to create their own award-winning work. View many of these works on this site.

Dance

The South High Dance program is dedicated to developing students' dance knowledge in performance and choreography.   A strong focus on modern, contemporary, and jazz dance technique forms the foundation of the program while guest artists from the Minneapolis community augment the curriculum in hip-hop, dance from the African diaspora, and contemporary Indian.  Students who are members of the year long Dance Company classes have the opportunity to perform in a fall choreography showcase, "Swing Night" and a full spring dance concert in May.
