1. What day is the test?
Tuesday, Feb. 28
2. Where is the test?
YWCA Field House - 2121 E. Lake - Adjacent to South High Field
3. What time is the test:
Check in 8 - 8:45 a.m.
4. When does the test end?
The test ends at approximately 1 p.m.

5. What if I arrive late?
If you arrive after 9 a.m., you will not be admitted.
6. What should I bring?
Bring pencils, calculator and student ID
7. May I bring my cell phone, backpack or food?
No, you may not bring cell phone, backpack or food into the testing area.
8. How long will the test take?
Math: 60 minutes
English: 45 minutes
Reading: 35 minutes
Science: 40 minutes
Writing: 40 minutes
9. Will there be any breaks?
There will be a 10 minute break after the 2nd test, and a 5 minute break before the writing test.
10. Do I take the test at my own pace or do I wait for others to finish before moving on to the next section.
Each test subject starts at the same time for all. 
11. If I finish a test early, may I go back to a previous test section to complete or change answers?
Should you finish a section early, you may not go back to a previous test section. If you do, your test will be voided.
12. Where do I register for the ACT?
No need to register.
All juniors enrolled at South are expected to take advantage of the opportunity to take the ACT w/writing.
13.Is this test just for juniors?
Seniors who did not take the ACT last year are also welcome to test, but need to let Ms. McMillen know. Seniors should stop into the testing office and asked to be put on the roster.
14. What about sophomores or freshmen?
Sophomores and freshmen may not test at this time. This is an opportunity for juniors and any senior who missed taking the ACT last year.
15. Will I be excused from classes that day?
Testing students will be excused.
16. What if I have accommodations?
Students who have ACT-approved accommodations will test at South High and will not report to the YWCA. Please stop by the testing office for your room assignment on Monday Feb. 27.
17. How do I know if I have accommodations?
Check with your case manager, your counselor or Ms. McMillen in the testing office to see if you qualify for accommodations. Note: having a 504 or IEP does not automatically qualify a student for accommodations.

18. What are accommodations?
Examples of accommodations are extended test time, a small group setting, extra breaks, scribe.
19. Is this there anything else?
Before testing, students MUST complete pre-administration after school Feb. 21, 22, 23. If these dates do not work for you, please contact Ms. McMillen. You may not test without completing pre-administration.
20. What is pre-administration?
Pre-administration is the paperwork you complete, noting your name, id number, etc.
We set aside time for this in advance of the test so as not to burden students with this task on the day of the test.
