A Little About Me!

I am originally from Mahtomedi, Minnesota (a small metro suburb in between White Bear Lake and Stillwater). When I was in high school I participated in many activities, including Girl Scouts, Band (French horn), NHS, and Swim Team. After I graduated from Mahtomedi in 2007, I went to the University of Minnesota, majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Psychology. I got my Bachelor of Science in Math in 2011, and right away entered the U's Math teaching program. I took a year of teacher preparation courses to license in math for grades 5-12. I went back to the U of M a few years later to earn my Masters in Math Education. This is my 8th year teaching.

Besides my education, I taught swimming lessons to students of all ages for about 7 years. In my free time I like to swim, ice skate, read (Harry Potter! among other things), watch tv, work on my photography, and listen to music. My favorite tv shows include Lost, The Office, Parks and Rec, and The Big Bang Theory. I love math and I have made it my mission to show my students just how cool and relevant math is to their lives!

I look forward to a year full of math and fun!
