If you like “hands-on” activities, using tools and making projects then you will enjoy taking Machine Technology! All 3 courses are Semester in length. All courses are project based so attendance is crucial because you have to be on the machines to complete your assignments.
Machine Tech 1- is an introduction to the use of hand tools and the safe use of machine lathes as well as drill presses, grinders, oxy acetylene brazing and milling machines. All grades 9-12 can take this course.
Machine Tech 2- is a continuation of the principles learned in machine tech 1 with an emphasis on precise workmanship. Tech 2 students will have had to complete Machine Tech 1 as requirement. This class is an advanced level course incorporating computer design using Fusion 360 software to construct a CNC milled container. Students will also construct an air powered steam engine on a manual lathes/mills.
Machine Technology 3- . This is an advanced class for students who have completed machine technology 1 & 2. Students will construct a small scaled cannon using lathes and a 3D printer. Students can choose from a variety of projects to complete with individual instruction.

Extra Support & Inclusion
Students who would like to spend extra time in the lab to improve their skills, get caucht up on assignments, get ahead etc can arrange time with me either before or after school.
Grading Scale:
Remakes will be permitted for students who make mistakes on their projects, up to two weeks after the summative and up to one week after the quarter ends. Before you can do a retake you must speak with the instructor and get his approval.
