About Me: This year marks my 35th year of teaching at South High. Over that time, I’ve taught nearly every science course and worked with thousands of students.  I’m driven by the joy I feel when opening my students' minds to the world within and around them. My hope is that by engaging in the courses I teach, students will grow to appreciate the complexity and beauty of nature… and as a result, learn to care for its fragility.  I’m fascinated by the areas of genetics and evolution and how science relates to and impacts social issues. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, in my garden, traveling, and reading - especially historical fiction.

About My Teaching: Each of us makes decisions every day about how we want to impact the world. When I’m teaching, I feel that I’m contributing to the future by helping my students to improve their lives and their own impact on the world.  Everything I do, I do with the deepest conviction that my actions will make the world more productive and more sustainable for all.

Google Classroom: Specific details for all of my classes are posted on Google Classroom.
