As with any new season, hope springs eternal. For the TMT squad, there was something new.  TMT and SWEHN joined the Tri-Metro Conference for swimming only. Head Coach Jeff Sanders had SIX assistant coaches, Neil Anderson, Edwing GElvez, Jessica Herrera, Berit Gelvez, Lucy Hennen and Carol Olson.

TMT opened the season at the Eau Claire Relays.  South finished 6th out of 10 teams.  The only team to take first place was the 100 Yard Freestyle Relay.  Holly Anderson, Britta Roe, Carly Eckstrom and Rachel Anderson each swam 25 yards in a total time of 50.51.

The first event in the new conference was the Tri-Metro Relays.  TMT took home FIVE first places.  The first was in the 200 Yard Butterfly Relay.  Eleanor Strand, Lena Wilhelm, Emma Foley, and Kailey Everhart won in 1:58.94.  Next was the 200 Yard Backstroke Relay. Elena Dooley, Ellen Demgen, Rachel Anderson, and Annika Roe won with a time of 2:01.10.  The third win was the 200 Yard Freestye Relay consisting of Tea McLawhorn, Lily Lengvenis, Amelia Baxley, and Maya Knutson.  The won in a time of 1:44.98. Their fourth win was in the 200 Yard Breaststroke Relay. Kayrek Neufeld, Talia Bradley, Ellen Gantenbein, and Lena Wilhelm won in 2:28.08.  The final win was in the 100 Yard Freestyle Relay. Holly Anderson, Britta Roe, Carly Eckstrom, and Rachel Anderson won in a speedy 49.35.

TMT took on Fridley in the first dual meet in the new conference.  TMT won seven events, with Rachel Anderson taking two. 

TMT and SWEHN faced off for the first time as Tri-Metro foes.  SWEHN won a close meet 95-86.  TMT took home four first places.  Rachel Anderson and Laurel Neufeld each won one event.  The 200 and 400 Yard Freestyle Relay teams also won.

TMT traveled to Watertown-Mayer for a meet.  TMT finished right in the middle, 4th place out of seven teams.  Rachel Anderson was the only person to finish in first place.  She won the 100 Yard Freestyle in 56.71.

The Maroon and Gold Invitational was the next event.  TMT participated in the Bronze Division and again finished in the middle, 7th place out of 13 teams. Rachel Anderson won the 50 Yard Freestyle in a quick 25.14.

TMT faced another Tri-Metro member, Visitation.  Visitation has been dominant in the Class A State Meet in recent years, the TMT team member felt a bit of accomplishment losing only 101-74.  Rachel Anderson, 100 Yard Backstroke, Olivia Lee, Diving, Laurel Neufeld, 100 Yard Breaststroke and the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team all took first place.

TMT won another conference meet defeating Metro United 94-83.  Jenny Zander (100 Yard Butterfly and 200 Yard IM) won two events.  Rachell Anderson (50 Yard Freestyle), Olivia Lee (Diving), Britta Roe (100 Yard Freestyle) and the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team also won their events.

In a non-conference event, TMT defeated St. Peter 95-75.Rachel Anderson won two grueling events, the 200 and 500 Yard Freestyle races.  Britta Roe won the 100 Yard Freestyle.  TMT also won the 200 Yard Freestyle and Medley relays.

In a triangular meet, TMT faced Columbia Heights and Holy Angels.  Rachel Anderson won the 50 Yard Freestyle and the 100 Yard Butterfly.  Olivia Lee won the Diving.  Britta Roe won the 100 Yard Freestyle.  The 200 Yard Medley Relay team won their event.

At the Region 6AA True Team event, TMT finished in last place, scoring 350 points.  No TMT swimmer won an event.

Even though the two Minneapolis teams are now in the Tri-Metro conference, they still held a Minneapolis City Meet.  SWEHN won with 761 points.  TMT had 576.  Rachel Anderson won the 100 Yard Freestyle in 54.79.  Britta Roe won the 50 Yard Freestyle in 25.80.  The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Rachel Anderson, Britta Roe, Carly Eckstrom and Anika Johnson won in 3:57.69.

The teams again broke apart for regions.  South finished in last place (7th) with a score of 76.  Edina won with 554.5.
