Due to a scheduling conflict, last year’s head coach had to resign just before the start of practice.  But the team was not left without a coach.  Last year’s assist coach, Angie Fischels, stepped in and took the head coaching position.

South opened the season with five very difficult non-conference matches.  Robbinsdale Armstrong was the first to take on the Tiger and defeat them, 7-0.  Champlin Park won the second match, 6-0.  St. Paul Harding also won, 6-1.  Blaine won in a strange, 8-0, score.  Cannon Falls ended the non-conference portion with a 7-0 win over South.

With a tough non-conference schedule, the Tigers expected easier going in the conference.  They were wrong.  Washburn baked the Tigers 7-0.  The Lakers sank the Tigers 7-0.  South won its first match of the season defeating Edison 7-0.  The 7-0 win over North would be their last of the season.  Losses to Roosevelt and Henry, both 5-2, ended the conference season.

The regular season ended with a 5-2 loss to DeLaSalle.

South drew the powerful Edina in the first round of the Region 6AA Tournament.  The Tigers season mercifully ended with a 7-0 loss.

The Tigers finished with a 2-4 conference record, tied with Henry for fourth place.  Overall, the Tigers were 2-11.  Junior Kathleen Kaelin was the lone Tigers to be named to the All-Conference team.
