2009-2010 Season

Team Photo not Available

As the season began, fewer girls came out for the team.  Just because the team was smaller, does not mean they did not have heart, dedication, or the desire to win.  The smaller group became a cohesive unit, pushing each other to be the best they could.

The team opened the season at the South Tiger Invitational.  The team finished in second place. Sophomore Clara Schultz finished in fourth place in a time of 16:$7.00.

The Tigers participated in the Faribault Invitational and finished in 13th place.

The Tigers attended the Mounds View Mustang Invitational.  They had runners competing in both the Green and Gold divisions, so they did not have a team score. Junior Sally Donovan took first place in the Gold Division in a time of 15:52.00. Lena Holter finished in 13th place in the Gold division.  There were over 100 runners participating.

To close out September, the Tigers participated in the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguar Invitational and finished third.  Sally Donovan again led the way, finishing in seventh place in a time of 15:42.20.

At the Swain Invitational in Duluth, the Tigers participated in the Class AA division and finished 10th.  Aly Fasset-Carmen was the Tigers’ best finisher.

The final regular season meet of the season was the Blaine Bengal Invitational.  The Tigers finished in sixth place in the White Division.

At the Conference Meet, the Tigers hoped to defend their title.  Unfortunately, they finished in second place.  At the Region 6AA Meet, South’s season ended.  The team finished in ninth place.

Mark Gross was the Head Coach.
