Head Coach Jeff Sanders began his 14th season as the leader of the Tiger swimmers.  No one has coached the Tiger women longer in school history.  During his tenure, the Tigers have never finished below first place in the regular season or conference meet.

There was a change in the conference schedule this season.  That was caused by the Henry/North team merging with the Edison/Roosevelt team.  The new squad, known by the acronym HREN, could be a formidable foe for the conference.  Also, the now four-team conference, will swim two meets against each conference opponent.

South’s first opponent was the new HREN squad.  The Tigers held their own and won 90-72.

South then faced Washburn.  The Millers could not keep up with the Tigers, who won 87-68.

Southwest was the next team to fall the Tigers.  South won by 15, 94-59.

The second round started against HREN.  This was a blow out, with the Tigers winning 86-16.

Southwest was also defeated the second time, 70-31.

South claimed their 20th consecutive title defeating Washburn in their last conference meet of the season.  The score was not reported.

South rolled in the True Team Region 5AA meet, claiming the title and advancing to the True Team State Meet. South amassed 1279 points and had a 172-point margin over second place Cretin-Derham Hall. The results of the state meet were not reported.

For the 20th straight time, South won the Conference Meet.  They then faced St. Paul Central in the Twin City meet and won 99-82.

In the Region 5AA Meet, South again came away as the victors, totaling 457 points.  Second place Cretin-Derham Hall only had 385.

In the State Meet, South tied with Champlin Park for 21st place, scoring 34 points.  The winner, Edina, totaled 246 points.
