The Tigers wanted more.  After finishing second in the State last season, the goal was to win it all this year.  With seniors comprising more than half of the team, Head Coach George Beske and his assistant, James Mayer, knew that the experience would take the team far, but the team still had to work to reach their goal.

The Tigers breezed through the conference schedule.  The season opened with a 7-0 win over Henry.  Southwest was the only Minneapolis school to score on the Tiger  The Lakers lost 5-2.  Roosevelt also lost, but the score was not reported.  North, Washburn and Edison all fell 7-0.

Cretin-Derham Hall was the Twin City opponent.  The trophy stayed at South when the Tigers won 6-1.

There is no record of non-conference matches, even though the Tigers did play some.

In the Region tournament, the Tigers won their first two matches, setting up the championship against a surprising Washburn team.  The Millers needed two upsets to face the Tigers.  Unfortunately their run ended when South won 6-1.

South faced a tough Rochester Mayo team in the opening round of the State Tournament.  In a close match, the Tigers fell 4-3.  In the consolation round, South won both matches, taking home the consolation championship.
