Head Coach Craig LeSuer knew he would have his hands full with the Tigers basketball team this season.  He expected them to be hard-working and focused, but knew they would be inexperienced.  This year’s team had only ONE senior on the roster.

The Conference season started out poorly and went downhill from there.  The first game was against North, who won by 27 points, 91-64.  South played a closer game against Edison, but again lost, 72-63.  Against Roosevelt, the Tigers suffered their worst loss of the season, a 40-point blowout 100-60. The losses continued to pile up with Southwest winning 65-55, Washburn winning 70-58 and Henry being victorious 76-58.  The first half of the conference scheduled ended with no wins.

The second half repeated the first half.  North seemed to score at will, winning 101-84.  South again played Edison tough but lost 67-59.  Roosevelt beat the Tigers 82-68.  Southwest won by 21, 69-48. Washburn racked up a 29 point win, 77-48.  The conference season mercifully ended with the closest conference game of the season.  However, the Tigers again lost 44-42 and finished in last place with a 0-12 record.

In non-conference games, the Tigers finished 3-6.  Two of the wins were against DeLaSalle, 65-56, and Eau Claire North, 72-59.  Losses were to St. Paul Central, 65-48, St. Paul Highland Park, 66-62, and Totino Grace, 82-67.  Three of the games were not reported.

Joe Hyser and Michael Winston again assisted Coach LeSuer.
