The 1992-93 Tigers came into the season with the hopes and dreams of repeating the success of last season, planning on back to back State tournament seasons.  Head Coach Craig LeSuer, his assistants Joe Hyser and Michael Winston, and the players, all believed they were capable of making back to the “big dance.”

The conference season opened after Winter Break with their first game against Henry.  The Patriots did not surprise the Tigers as they did last season, falling by 22, 77-55.  A much improved Washburn gave the Tigers all they could handle, taking a 72-68 win from South.

With an even record, South then destroyed Edison.  The game was not close except maybe at the start when the game was tied 0-0.  South won by 35, 87-52!  Against, North, the Tigers record was again equaled, with a 75-57 Polar win.

The back and forth wins and losses continues against the next two opponents.  South defeated Southwest 79-60 but lost to Roosevelt 62-50.

Beginning the second half, South went on a run, winning against Henry, 78-61, Washburn, 74-62, Edison, 84-57, North 61-60, and Southwest 73-55.  The only blemish during the second half was against Roosevelt, who beat the Tigers 81-58.

During the non-conference schedule, the Tigers only won two games, against Edina and DeLaSalle.  Edina lost 71-64.  DeLaSalle lost 66-56.

The seven losses were to St. Paul Humboldt, 66-41, St. Paul Central, 58-49, Hopkins, 65-45, St. Agnes, 79-76, Forest Lake, 63-56, Robbinsdale Armstrong 66-57, and Eau Claire North, 54-47.
