For the fourth time in school history, the Tiger swimmers have a new head coach.  Neil Anderson resigned as head coach, but he stayed on as an assistant coach.  Jeff Sanders, took over as head coach, and had a major task, continuing the winning tradition.  The Tigers are the six-time defending champion.

South opened the season against the Henry/North squad.  The Tigers won easily 104-43.  Edison put up a little more of a fight, losing only 94-65.  Washburn lost by 31, 106-75. Roosevelt fell 92-52.  The Tigers finished their first half with a 108-73 win over Southwest.

The second half continued to show the Tigers’ dominance.  Henry/North fell 113-61.  Edison forfeited their meet, so the Tigers were given an 11-0 victory.  Washburn again lost 109-71.  Roosevelt went down 110-59.  The regular season ended with a 115-68 win over Southwest.

The Tigers participated in the Austin Invitational during the season.  South finished sixth in a meet that featured many of the State’s top teams.

The Tigers won the Conference Meet again and represented Minneapolis in the Twin City Meet against Cretin-Derham Hall.  This was the seventh consecutive season the two teams squared off for the Twin Cities Title.  South won 108-75, taking the title for the fourth consecutive season, and the fifth time during the seven season streak.

The Tigers have won 36 straight conference regular season meets as of the end of the season.
