“It’s an adventure,” said junior Biki Cotton.  She was speaking as a member of the Lady Tigers according to the 1990 yearbook.

As a force on the court they were hard to stop.  Senior co-captain Susie Sorenson led the team in scoring with an average of 17 points per game.

“We played as a team.  Everyone put in a lot of effort.  We believed in ourselves,” said senior co-captain Anne Meitz, according to the yearbook.  Jennifer Emmons was the third co-captain

The Tigers started conference play with a four game winning streak, beating Henry 71-34, Washburn 41-40, North 74-40 and Edison 70-36.

Their first loss came against Roosevelt.  The Teddies easily destroyed the Tigers, 82-52.  The team could have been dejected, but they were not.

The Tigers rebounded with a five-game conference winning streak.  They defeated Southwest65-47, Henry 52-35, Washburn 63-58, North 59-39 and Edison 78-15.

This set up a rematch with Roosevelt.  The two teams were first and second in the conference.  If South could win, they would at least share in the conference title.  Unfortunately, the Tigers had to finish for runner-up status when the Teddies won 63-36.

The Tigers finished the conference season with a victory over Southwest, 58-50.

The Tigers finished 6-3 in non-conference games.  They defeated St. Paul Central 58-51, Forest Lake 75-71, Tartan 55-47, Simley 66-53, Buffalo 58-32 and Minnetonka 67-34. The three losses were to Mounds View 60-39, Rosemount 47-39 and one game that was not reported (assumingly a region playoff game)

Playing smart, playing hard and playing together is what Head Coach Kevin Anderson stressed.  Practices were intense but the players learned quickly and pushed each other to new heights according to the yearbook.
