As the new season emerged, the Tigers believed they would be successful.  Half of the varsity team (six) were seniors, giving the Tigers much experience.  However, only for the opening game were the 12 varsity players all together.  The big reason for this was injuries.  South relied heavily on the Junior Varsity team to fill in for the injured players.

South opened the season against North.  The Polars handed the Tigers a 3-0 defeat to start the year.

The Tigers’ record fell to 0-2 with a 3-0 loss to Washburn.

South won their first match of the season defeating Edison 3-1. South fell to Southwest 3-1.

However, the season seemed to turn around for the Tigers.  South won four of their last five conference matches.  Roosevelt fell 3-2.  Henry was beaten twice, 3-0 and 3-1.  Roosevelt earned some revenge defeating the Tigers 3-0.  The conference season ended with a 3-2 win over Edison.

South played five non-conference matches, losing all five.  The only score (and opponent) reported was a 3-0 loss to Fridley.

The Tigers finished with a 5-4 conference record, in fourth place.  Overall, the Tigers were 5-9.

Kevin Anderson joined Becky Vossen as the coaches for the team.  During the off-season, Vossen informed the athletic department she would not be returning as the head coach.
