The South basketball team had another stellar year in the conference standings.  Led again by Frank Cleve and Luther Mona, the team finished 6-2 in the standings which was good for third place. 

The team opened the conference season against Marshall.  Marshall showed why the finished the season undefeated and in first place. Marshall won 37-26.

South then took on West and won 37-32, and that was followed by a victory over Roosevelt, 39-31.

Edison, who finished in second place with only one loss was the next opponent.  South played a very good game, but lost the second and last game of the season, 31-25.  Edison’s only loss would be at the hands of Marshall.

South finished the conference season with a four-game winning streak.  North was the first to fall, 41-32.  Central was next, 50-41.  Vocational put up a good fight, but lost 26-25.  Washburn was the last victim, losing 21-12.

South, along with Marshall and Edison participated in the Twin City games.  South drew the St. Paul third place team, St. Paul Harding.  The Tigers won a close game 24-19.  Minneapolis won two of the three games.
