South High Student Council Wins Minnesota Association of Student Council (MASC) Outstanding Student Council of the Year.

Student Council Awards

This past weekend nine students and I represented SHS Student Council at the annual State Leadership convention. For the FOURTH year in a row SHS Student Council has been the recipient of the Minnesota Association of Student Councils (MASC) Outstanding Student Council of the Year. The students work hard to create fun activities for the students as well as volunteering their time for various community agencies.

If you see, Sugei Leal, please congratulate her on winning the MASC Officer of the Year. She works hard to keep the Student Council running smoothly and efficiently. I am not sure what I am going to do without her next year.

During Spring break, I spent the majority of my time with students. First, I helped out Elliot Hanson and Michelle Ockman with supervision of students who represented South at the Youth in Government Model United Nation conference. Then I spent this weekend with South and Citywide students at the state conference. While I was there, I was re-inspired on the reasons why I do what I do for the students. If you have ever questioned why I do what I do, I highly recommend you to check out the information and videos on the Alliance For Student Activities website:
