CPR and First Aid

Take that first step toward a medical career and get certified with Minneapolis Community Education!

Camp Cardiac and  Camp Neuro
Run by local medical students in over 30 cities nationwide, an ideal introduction for any high school student interested in exploring a career in medicine.  With a focus on both education and real world experience, these camps provids students with a unique opportunity to learn directly from experts.

Abbott-Northwestern Teen Volunteer Program 

Excellent preparation for aspiring medical professionals to get an insider's view of various medical fields. 

Includes training and a meal stipend, right in the South neighborhood!

Association of American Indian Physicians  

Intensive summer program for American Indian and Alaska Native high schools students. This week long event is designed to prepare and motivate students to pursue a career in health care or biomedical research.  Application deadline April 30.

Indians into Medicine

FREE program at UND.  Application due March 1.

Career Immersion Program

Medical career orientation for curent 11th-grade students of color.  Application deadline Feb. 1.

Sabathani Community Center's ''Eliminating Health Disparities'Initiative" (volunteer opportunity)

Eliminating Health Disparities Initiative (EHDI) – The initiative works in collaboration with community partners to reduce health disparities in the African American and Latino communities served by Sabathani Community Center in the areas of diabetes, teen pregnancy, unintentional injury and violence.
