Lossow named head football coach

From South High Athletic Director Brett McNeal:

When Rodney's professional football career ended, he returned to Minneapolis and started teaching Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education in Minneapolis. Currently, he is an Adapted Physical Education Teacher at South and Roosevelt.

In his 25 years as a teacher in the district, coach Lossow has been a head football coach for 18 Years.  During those 18 years, he was blessed to coach some great student athletes and win a couple of conference titles and lead a team to State.  He also has been a head coach in Softball (15 Years), Gymnastics (10 years) and Badminton (9 Years).  He was even a Head Coach for Girls Soccer for one year, his first year as a teacher!  At the youth level, he has coached 15+ years in the Minneapolis Park and Recreation System.  

Coach Lossow has been married for 21 years to Janine and they have 3 sons; two of them currently attend South high school, Malachi and Josiah, and their third son, Elijah, is a 7th grader at Sanford. Coach Lossow Says, “I am honored to be named as the Head Football Coach at my alma mater, South High School. I am excited to lead the Tigers!”  Coach Lossow believes in the development of the Mind, Body and Heart of the Athlete.  “In order to do this, it takes everyone, players, coaches, parents, teachers and administration.  Let the new Journey Begin!” says, coach Lossow!
