The school day, for 11th graders, will begin and end at the YWCA Tuesday, Feb. 28 for the free ACT. Please read ACT FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions). NOTE: Pre-administrative paperwork is required this week! The test is NEXT WEEK.
Students planning to take Advanced Placement exams are asked to get these dates on their calendars:
In February, current freshman, sophomores and juniors will be preparing to select classes for next school year. Below is the timeline for students and parents. Please take time to discuss choices with family, teachers and your counselor.
● Counselors distribute materials in English classes —Thursday, March 2; Friday, March 3.
● Students without an English class should see their counselor.
● Families encouraged to discuss course choices.
● Students meet with counselors — Monday, March 6 - Friday, March 17.
Blue bags on campus trees have been a mystery to some. We invited KARE 11 to spread the word that the trees are premium maples and the bags are collecting sap--an all-in-one lesson in chemistry, ecology and culture taught by Vincent Patton of the All Nation's program. See photos.
South High grad and NASA veteran Alicia Robinson will be the featured guest at a Hidden Figures Screening, Tuesday, Feb. 28, co-sponsored by South High. Robinson also worked for the United Space Alliance and is now an International Training Manager. See poster.
