A scheduled Oct. 6 presentation by Minneapolis Public Schools, regarding development plans on East Lake Street, has been cancelled by the district.
The presentation was to be hosted by the Land Use and Housing Committee of the Corcoran Neighborhood Organization, and was to outline plans for a proposed new building to be situated on East Lake Street, between 20th and 21st Ave. S. The building is intended to house the MPS Adult Education and Transition Plus programs.
MPS, citing unresolved issues, has cancelled the presentation.
When rescheduled, we will post the date and time here.
According to the architect hired by MPS, the building will consist of a 93,000 square foot, four-story structure on the north end of the block with a clear and prominent glazed two-story lobby facing Lake Street. The exterior building materials will of high quality and include metal panels, stone, and glazing. The project will include approximately 160 structured parking spaces below grade and approximately 40 spaces on grade. The building will be designed to welcome the community and users providing easy access given the various forms of public transportation near the site.
The CNO looks forward to the opportunity to provide the community a chance to hear the plans and to solicit community feedback.
