South gardening efforts get boost from grants

The grants will will enhance and expand the garden. Here's what's planned:

  • Our AVID students are working with Chris Behringer, a local landscape architect to design the pollinator/perennial garden.
  • Next year, we will be participating in the Garden to Cafeteria program. Some of the produce grown in our expanded vegetable garden will be used in our school cafeteria.
  • Students will be trained in in harvesting procedures.
With so much interest from staff and students in participating in the project, there are many ways everyone can participate from planning to labor and getting dirty. It is definitely a process and will be an ongoing project.
Please contact Science teacher Susan Peterson if you'd like to lend a hand.
