Parents and guardians you're invited to experience life at South High! Attend class on a shortened bell schedule! Meet teachers, staff, Thursday, Sept. 15.
Visit resource tables - 6:30-7 p.m. | Attend classes - 7-8:45 p.m. | See professional staff 7-8 p.m.
How to prepare:
Check in with your child, see if they have questions they want you to ask of their teachers and staff.
Bring a copy of your child's class schedule, or print from the parent portal.
If unable to print, come to the main office for a copy.
How the evening is planned:
6:30 - 7 p.m. - Commons | See handout.
Counselors and Social Workers will greet families in Commons.
Media Specialist, Deb Snell will be available to help parents access Parent Portal, the online program for tracking student progress.
College & Career Center Coordinator, Nneka Abdullah and will help parents access Naviance, the online program for college planning.
South High’s Community Education Coordinator, Heather Borgman will be on hand to explain Driver’s Ed and ACT prep classes.
Spanish-speaking and Somali-speaking liaisons will assist with communication.
Activity/club and school resource tables will be set up. (Club advisers/boosters/students: contact Tony Stewart to register your table.)
The South High Foundation will be selling Spirit Wear! (Cash, check and credit cards accepted!)

7 - 8 p.m.
Counselors will be available in their offices on 2nd floor.
Social Workers will remain in the Commons. Families, preferring a setting of privacy, should feel free to request a meeting in their offices.
