Dear Parents,
This letter is to inform you of an exciting program and opportunity available to you at South High School for 9th grade parents. Connecting Parents To Educational Opportunities (CPEO) is a parent program in the Minneapolis School District that helps parents become equal partners in their student’s education. This program will help parents develop skills that will make working with school staff, principals and teachers easier as well as understanding the school system. Furthermore, tools will be taught to help parents create home learning environments and strategies that will help with post secondary education. 
This exciting opportunity is only available at select Minneapolis Public Schools, with ours being one of them. The program consist of seven classes, once a  redeemed based on specific admission qualifications and financial aid eligibility. The program will offer an English and Native American class and is limited to thirty families per class. 
Someone from the district or school will be contacting you by phone about possible interest in the upcoming weeks. Remember this if for 9th grade parents and there is no cost to be a part of this program. If you have any questions, need more information or would like to sign up at this time, please call 612-668-2095. If you would like to sign up you can also turn in the attached portion of the attached flyer to our school parent liaison. Thank you again and we look forward to your involvement in the CPEO program
