GBB wraps season!

Congratulations to the South High Girls Basketball Team. Contenders on the court, they pulled a major upset of higly favored Wayzata and faced #1 Hopkins with grit and determination. In the end, they came away runner-up section final winners! See season standouts.

Montage Concert set for March 22

NHS offers peer tutoring

Research shows "significant gains" when students tutor students, something National Honor Society is putting into practice with peer tutoring. Need help? Ask 7th hour teaches for a pass to the Media Center or come after school Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Why are bags hanging from SHS trees?

Who knew the trees on campus were prime specimens? Social Studies teacher Vincent Patton did! A member of the Lakota Sioux tribe, Patton took his early life experiences tapping sap and created an integrated econ/science lesson for students! Learn more.

Korina Barry '05 inspires students

South alum Korina Barry '05 returned to campus with her remarkable story of grit. She's now the Director of Outreach for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare, but Barry almost didn't go to college, almost didn't graduate high school and narrowly escaped the juvenile justice system. Read more.

MFD cadet class includes SHS grad

Three female cadets in the Minneapolis Fire Department's Class of 2018 made big news as the first women making the cut since 2015. One of them is South High graduate, Mallory Cramer! See story.
