Welcome to South High Health Science Level I and II.  The overall purpose is to discuss the importance of a healthy life and choices we all have in regard to this end.  The second reason of this web page is to inform students and parents of daily lessons and to check homework status.  Finally there will be a section where both parent and student can leave messages for  the teacher.

 Biography

I grew up on a farm in central Iowa.  The most outstand ing thing about this is that the farm has been in my family for over 100 years.  Currently, the farmstead is occupied by my younger sister.  I like the fact that my sister is intent on keeping up the tradition.

I moved to Minnesota in 1980, and returned to college to finish my teaching degree in 1985.  I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher for three years in southern Minnesota.  In 1990 I began working for Austin Commmunity College as a Health and Physical Eduation Teacher.  At this time I was also the Women's Athletic Director for the college.  I the fall of 1996, I moved to Minneapolis and began working with the district in January of 1997.  The first time I came to South High, I was so impressed, I never wanted to leave.  That feeling has never left me.  I am very proud to be on staff at this school and equally blessed to work with very talented students.

My life, for over twenty five years, has focused on Health.  I look around this world and realize that everyday all of us think about our Health in some way, shape, or form.  If not about ourselves then about someone we love.  It is to these ends I try to craft two completely different classes of Health Science here at South High.  I believe that because Health is so dynamic, I will never run out of topics to peak the interest of my students.  I open my classrooms to all parents to come in and see what we learn about in the world of Health.
