PUSH is an important resource and a powerful way for parents to connect with other parents, school administration and the school community as a whole. PUSH is much more than a booster club for South—our mission is to support communication between home and school; to encourage parents/guardians to be involved at South; to educate ourselves on topics of interest as parents; and to create ways for every family and student to have a social connection to the school community and feel a valued member and participant within it!
The October 10, 2016 P.U.S.H. Meeting will include information on the South High Student Activities and a Forum Discussion.
Students that are engaged at school do better academically! There are so many activities to for your student to choose from, such as Robotics, Debate, Unidos Student Group, Somali Student Association, Book Club, LGBTQ Support Group, Art Hour, National Honors Society and much, much more!
Please come and explore the various options!
The latter part of the meeting will be a forum discussion on POSITIVE SCHOOL-WIDE ENGAGEMENT at South High. We'll talk about Tiger P.R.I.D.E. (Prompt, Respect, Integrity, Discipline and Effort) and how South encourages and supports all students. We'll also discuss how restorative practices are used with students. The discipline policy will be explained and you will have the opportunity to provide South with feedback.
We need and value your opinion! Please come and join our discussion.
The meeting will begin at 6:30pm. A light dinner will be provided starting at 6:00pm. Somali and Spanish interpreters will be available for this meeting.
