Lorie Hippen

Ms. Hippen has been teaching for 29 years in Minneapolis and other school districts (24 years in Minneapolis).  She will be conducting the Chamber Orchestra, String Orchestra, Beginning Band/Orchestra, and overseeing Piano Classes.  Ms. Hippen is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and is a free lance violinist and private teacher around the Twin Cities.

The South High School Music Department is dedicated to helping students grow in their musical ability and knowledge. Our ensembles all strive to perform at the highest level possible so they can share their talents and music with others.

The music staff at South believes that there is a great opportunity to learn skills at South that will help students become better people and that they will learn the skills necessary to continue performing and enjoying music well beyond high school. You can contact the staff at South by email:
