Youth Teaching Youth (YTY) is a great way to increase your skills in public speaking, teamwork, leadership, relationship building, decision making, and more. The cross age teaching program offers fabulous opportunities for 9-12 graders to build their resume and connect to the U of MN. By participating in the program you can receive school credit or community service hours.
Teen teachers will teach in teams at an elementary youth enrichment program. The lessons are interactive and include fun activities, role play and discussion. Students will meet for 9 weeks after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays to learn how to be a teacher, prepare lessons and teach.
Come to the Community Ed office (next to attendance) for more information and an application. You can also email Heather at firstname.lastname@example.org or Lou at email@example.com.
