For the 10th season, Mark Gross entered August with the desire to make the Tigers the best cross country team he could.  Only one other head coach, Warren Kaari, has coached longer.  With many returning runners, the Tigers had to be one of the favorites to win the Minneapolis Conference title.

The Tigers opened the season hosting the Tiger Invitational.  South finished fourth with Kaitlyn Mulhern leading the Tiger runners.

At Faribault, the Tigers finished in 12th place with Anna Mulhern being South’s best runner.

The Tigers travelled to Anoka to participate in the Rum River Invitational.  The Tigers finished ninth and Kaitlyn Mulhern was the best Tiger finisher.

At the Mounds View Invitational, South participated in the Green Division and finished in 12th place.  For the third straight meet, a Mulhern was the Tigers’ best runner.  This time it was 8th-grader Emily.

South went a few miles to the University of Minnesota to participate in the Roy Griak Invitational.  The Tigers were assigned to the Maroon Division and finished 28th.  The Mulhern’s continued being the Tigers’ best finisher, this time it was Anna.

An almost three-hour bus trip to Duluth was up next for the Tigers, who participated in the Swain Invitational.  In Class AA, the team finished in 14th place.  For the third time of the season, Anna led the Tigers, finishing 37th out of 377 runners.

In the Blue Division at the Blaine Bengal Inviatioanal, the Tigers finished 12th.  Anna Mulhern finished 25th to lead the Tigers.

The Tigers were ready for the Conference Meet.  South finished second but placed five runners in the top 13.  Anna Mulhern, fourth, Kaitlyn Mulhern, eighth, Isabel Strebe, 10th, Ketura Adam, 12th and Molly Devore, 13th, were the South runners whose time counted for the team score.

The Tigers sent four runners to the Left Wright Grade Level Meet.  Senior Margaret Demgen was the only person to compete in the Junior-Senior division.  Chloe Persigehl-Flak, Linnea Keire and Sumara Adam participated in the Sophomore and under division.

The final meet of the season was the Region 6AA Meet.  South finished in 10th place.  Anna Mulhern was the only South runner to finish in the top 50% of the individuals participating.
