As the 2015-2016 swimming season started, a milestone was reached.  Head Coach Jeff Sanders began his 25th season leading South.  The team, now called TMT because of the merger of South, Roosevelt and Washburn, has fallen on hard time in recent seasons, but that has not stopped Sanders and his staff, assistant coaches Edwing Gelvez, Shea Lavalier, Ryley Kramka and West Schlichting, from working hard and encouraging the team to do their best in practice and at meets.

TMT’s season opened at the Eau Claire Memorial Relays.  The team finished in 8th place out of 11 teams.   The only team to finish in first place was Ella Cook, Maddie Dieffenback, Anika Johnson and Rachel Anderson in the 100 Yard Freestyle Relay.  They swam the race in 48.86.

The Tri-Metro Conference Relays were next.  Team scores were not kept. The 200 Yard Backstroke Relay team won in an impressive 1:58.74.  Team Members were Rachel Anderson, Ella Cook, Eleanor Dolan and Annika Roe.  The 200 Yard Breaststroke Relay team also finished in first place in a time of 2:21.53.  Maddie Dieffenback, Sophia Manolis, Eleanor Dolan and Talia Bradley were the team.  The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Rachel Anderson, Ella Cook, Anika Johnson and Maddie Dieffenbach also finished in first with a time of 3:50.33.

TMT defeated Fridley 96-84 to open the dual meet season.

The annual Maroon and Gold Meet saw TMT compete in the Tigers Division.  TMT finished fifth out of 12 teams. Rachel Anderson won the 100 Yard Freestyle in 54.47.

Minneapolis rivals SWEHN and TMT clashed on September 16.  SWENH won 105-80.  Rachel Anderson won the 50 Yard Freestyle in 24.90.  The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team also won in 1:41.78.  Maddie Dieffenback, Anika Johnson, Rachel Anderson and Ella Cook were the team.  Maddie Dieffenback won the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:11.51.

TMT travelled to Watertown-Mayer to participate in their invitational.  TMT, with 419 points won, beating the second place Waconia by 123 points!  Maddie Dieffenbach and Rachel Anderson finished 1 and 2 in the 50 Yard Freestyle.  Anderson won the 100 Yard Freestyle.  Dieffenbach, Anika Johnson, Anderson and Ella Cool won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.

TMT won their second Tri-Metro meet of the season when they downed Metro United 95-72.

In the Region 6AA True Team Meet, South finished a disappointing last. Scoring only 210.5 points.  One reason for this is that South, Washburn and Roosevelt were forced to split up, unlike in past seasons.

In the Region 6AA Meet, South again finished last, scoring only 106 points.  Cretin-Derham Hall won with 299 points. South did not have anyone advance to the State Meet.
