There was one major change for the 2015-2016 football season.  The Minneapolis City Conference, for football, no longer existed.  There would be no annual games against many of the city foes.  This was done by the Minnesota State High School League to assist schools who could not fill out their entire schedule and make the schedules more balanced.

The Minneapolis schools were placed in the Twin City district with a total of 26 schools.  The schools were then broke into four sub-districts based on class assignment.  South was placed in the Gold division with SMB Wolfpack, New Life Academy/St. Croix Prep, St. Paul Johnson, and Providence Academy, They would play three games against teams from the other divisions.

South opened the season against Roosevelt. In a high-scoring game, the Tigers prevailed 38-27.

The Tigers then took on New Life Academy and continued their winning 20-7.

A third straight win, this time against Southwest 32-28, gave the Tigers momentum with the hopes of a successful season.

Things fell apart against Mound-Westonka.  The White Hawks trounced the Tigers 34-0.  That was followed by a 42-6 beating by Blake.

Providence Academy kept the Tiger slide going, handing South their third straight loss, 23-12.

St. Paul Johnson took advantage of Tiger errors and piled up a 32-6 win.  The regular season ended with a 34-28 loss to St. Paul Harding, for their fifth defeat in a row.

The Tigers took on St. Anthony in the Region 4AAAA Tournament.  The Tigers fought hard but came up a little short 27-24, ending the season with six straight losses.

The Tigers were 3-6 for the season.  Head Coach Lenny Sedlock completed his 15th season leading the Tigers.  Chris Barrett, Bryon Carter, Kabakus Clark, Andy Henderson, Rodney Lossow, Joe Morgan and Ross Muellenberg were his assistants.
