Mark Gross, head coach of the Tiger Cross Country Team, welcomed two new assistant coaches to the squad along with the incoming freshmen and new runners.  Jackie Lawrence and Brittany Pentek had the responsibility of assisting Coach Gross in developing the runners to their fullest potential.

South opened the season at the Rum River Invitational at Anoka.  The Tigers finished in 12th place.  Jacob Patterson was South’s best finisher.

At the Burnsville Invitational, South finished in sixth place.  Jacob Patterson again was South’s best finisher. He came in 13th.

South went to Maple Grove to participate in the Mustang Invitational.  The team finished 15th.  Abram Isola was South’s best finisher.

The University of Minnesota hosted the Roy Griak Invitational.  South placed 40th in the Maroon Division.  Fred Pipkin was South’s best finisher.

South, running in the White Division, finished in first place of the Blaine Invitational.  Two runners, Fred Pipkin, sixth, and Jacob Patterson, eighth, finished in the top 10.

South travelled to Duluth to participate in the Swain Invitational. The Tigers finished 21st in the Class AA division.  Fred Pipkin was South’s best finisher.

At the Conference Meet, South finished third.  The runners whose time counted toward the team score included Jacob Patterson, 10th, Abram Isola, 15th, Ben Devore, 16th, Sam Nelson, 17th, and Eamonn Casey, 19th.

The Lefty Wright Grade Level Meet was the last competition for many of the runners.  Both the Freshman and Under, and Juniors and Seniors divisions saw the Tigers finish 19th.  South was 14th in the Sophomore division. 

South finished the season at the Region 6AA Meet. The Tigers came in 13th place.  Jacob Patterson was South’s best runner.
