The defending conference champions started the season with hopes of repeating by those hopes were dashed very soon in the season.  Three players broke bones which forced Head Coach Gabrielle Stickney and her assistants, Sarah Stoven and Rebekah Polland, to find a way to replace the three. Senior Rachel Rowles may have had the worst injuries, breaking four bones according to the 2013 South Yearbook.  Abby Harrison and Katie Harriss also broke bones.

Because of the injuries, the South/Roosevelt squad did not have much luck this season.  They opened against St. Paul Central and lost a very close meet 113.85-111.175.  Against St. Paul Johnson, the meet score was even closer, but again South lost, 112.825-111.775.  The Tigers won their first meet of the season against St. Paul Como Park, 102.025-93.625.  However, the team finished the non-conference portion of the schedule with a loss to St. Paul Highland Park, 130.225-115.925.

In the opening round of the conference play, South took on Southwest.  This again was very close, but Southwest won 110.65-109.275.  The Tigers won their only conference meet next, easily defeating Edison/Henry/North 114.95-90.725.  They wrapped up the conference regular season with a loss to Washburn, 114.575-108.85.

The Conference meet was a bit of a shock.  Regular season champion Washburn was the favorite to win, however, they finished third!  The winning team only had a 1-2 conference record, but in the Conference Meet, South scored 117.975 points taking the title over Southwest who had 110.875!  Edison/Henry/North finished last.

South again finished the season at the Region 5AA meet.  This season, they finished in last place, scoring 112.075 points.  Roseville advanced to the State Meet scoring 150.95 points.
