As the new season began, the Tigers coaching staff expanded.  Joining Head Coach Mark Gross on the staff were former coach Melvin Alvarez and Matt Lawrence.

The Tigers opened the season at the South Tiger Invitational.  South finished second.

The Tigers then travelled to Faribault.  South finished in ninth place.  Sally Donovan was the best Tiger finisher, ending in fourth place with a time of 15:12.80.

At the St. Olaf High School Showcase, the Tigers finished in 15th place. Only a few runners participated in the Mounds View Mustang Invitational, thus the team did not have a team score. 

The Tigers participated in the Roy Griak Invitational’s Maroon Division and finished 23rd.  Sally Donovan finished in 19th place, the best Tiger finisher.

South finished September participating in the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguar Invitational.  The team finished in eighth place.  Sally Donovan again was the best Tiger finisher, in third place.

To open October, the Tigers travelled to Duluth to participate in the Swain Invitational.  South finished 17th in Class AA.  Jenna Birkele was the best Tiger finisher.

The Tigers finished in second place in the White Division of the Blaine Bengal Invitational.  Sally Donovan, second place, and Jenna Birkeli, fifth place, both finished in the top five.

South finished in second place at the Conference Meet. Sally Donovan was the individual champion.  Jenna Birkeli, eighth place, Shira Breen, 10th place, Casey Johnson, 13th place, and Laura Turner, 18th place, were the others who added to team score.

South finished in eighth place in the Region 6AA Meet.  Sally Donovan finished in third place and advanced to the State Meet for the second time.  At State, Donovan finish in 27th place, an improvement of 39 spots over last season.
