Cross Country is an endurance sport for students who love running long distances.  The team practices through rain, shine or snow.  They are very dedicated to what they do.  Head Coach Mark Gross believes the dedication shows in their meets.

The Tigers opened their season at the Nokomis Invitational.  The team did not have enough runners for a team score.  The same thing occurred at the next meet, the Eden Prairie Invitational, where South did not have enough runners for a team score.

At the Roy Griak Invitational, the Tigers ended up in 45th place, and scored their first team points of the season.

The Tigers finished in 10th place at the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguar Invitational.  Sally Donovan finished the 4000 meter course in 15:42.20.  Her effort was good for seventh place and was the Tigers’ best finisher.

South travelled to the North Shore to participate in the Swain Invitational.  South finished 18th in the Class AA division.  Senior Aly Fasset-Carmen led the way in 17:25.80.

The final regular season meet of the season was the Blaine Bengal Invitational.  The Tigers finished in third place in the White Division.  Junior Marina Mass was the best Tiger finisher in 12th place.

At the Conference Meet, the Tigers finished second.  Junior Sally Donovan finished in second place, running in 15:26.10.  Teammate Aly Fasset-Carmen was close behind in fourth. Lena Holter, 11th, Laura Turner, 12th, and Marina Mass, 15th, were the team point scorers.

At the Region 6AA Meet, the team finished in eighth place.  Sally Donovan was the best Tiger finisher, completing the course in eighth place.  Donovan advanced to the State Meet, where she finished in 66th place.
