The 2010-11 season opened with more meets than anyone could remember. Coach Mark Gross intended to push his team more than they have ever been pushed before.

The team opened at the Southwest Invitational.  Team scores were not kept but individual scores were.  Temesgen Fekadu, Russel Chance and Abdulfatha Sameru finished second, third and fourth in the 5,000 meter race.

The Nokomis Invitational was renamed the South Tiger Invitational. Only Temesgen Fekadu, who finished third, was in the top ten. 

At Faribault, the Tigers came in ninth at the meet.

At the Twin City Graded Level Meet,   The only runners who placed high were seniors Temesgen Fekadu (second), and Chance Russel (third).

South finished a respectable seventh at the St. Olaf High School Showcase.

South clocked in at 10th place for the Mustang Invitational at Mounds View. Abdulfatha Sameru, 22nd, and Temesgen Fekadu, 28th, were the two best South finishers. 

At the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguar Invitational, South finished in seventh place. Temesgen Fekadu, 11th, was best South finisher at 17:21.80. 

South took their annual trip to Duluth to participate in the Swain Invitational.  The Tigers came in a respectable seventh. 

In the White Division of the Blaine Invitational, South finished 11th.  No one finished in the top 20.

South rebounded from last season’s poor finish and re foundedd to claim sixth place.Abdulfatha Sameru was South’s best finisher, placing fifth. 

South tuned up for regions participating in the Lefty Wright Grade Level Meet.

South ended the season at the Region 6AA Meet where the team finished eighth.  The dismal showing saw no Tigers make it to the top 20.
