The 2009-2010 season had something new for the gymnasts at South High School.  This season, they would combine with the gymnasts from Roosevelt to form one team.  Head Coach Gabrielle Stickney and her assistant, Sarah Stoven, would have to mold the two schools into a cohesive unit.

The team opened the conference regular season against Edison/Henry/North and won easily, 119.75-54.95.  The second conference meets was a little tougher, but again, the Tigers won 118.8-96.45.  The next meet is for the regular season conference title against Southwest. The meet is close, but Southwest takes the title 133.825-123.8.

In a non-conference meet, South loses to Richfield 127-124.45

The team also participated in a number of tournament during the season.  The first was the Centennial Tournament where the Tigers finished second.  In the Twin City Preview, South/Roosevelt finished in third place.  In the Prior Lake Tournament, South/Roosevelt finished in seventh place. In the Watertown-Mayer Tournament, the Tigers finished in sixth place and in the Farmington Quad, South/Roosevelt finished third.

In the Conference Meet, both the Varsity and JV finished second to Southwest.  Both South/Roosevelt and Southwest represent Minneapolis in the Twin City meet. The trophy came back to Minneapolis, but is in the hands of Southwest.  South finished third.

The team ended the season at the Region meets.  The two schools had to split apart for this meet since South and Roosevelt are in two difference classes for gymnastics.  South participated in the Region 6AA meet while Roosevelt was in Region 4A.  South finished a disappointing seventh out of eight teams.  Roosevelt finished last in their region.
