In the heat of mid-August, the Tiger football team took the field to begin practice.  The two-a-day workouts seemed like torture to some players, but the goal was to have the payers be in the best of shape when games began.  It was the responsibility of coach Lenny Sedlock and his staff to make sure the players were ready.

The first game was a non-conference contest against Rochester John Marshall.  The team fell 35-12.

South bounced back against old rival Roosevelt.  In a close game, the Tigers edged the Teddies 21-20.

Against Edison, the team piled up the points, but not as many as last season.  The 45-6 win was the most convincing game of the season for the Tigers.

Eight-time defending conference champion Washburn showed no signs of slowing down when they played the Tigers.  South played Washburn tough, but still fell 26-15.

The Lakers against showed up the Tigers, winning 42-20.

South played Henry for the Tigers Homecoming.  The South faithful enjoyed a close game that the Tigers won in the end 32-24.

South finished the conference season losing to North 39-8.

In the Twin City Crossover game, South played St. Paul Como Park.  The Tigers were caged as if in a zoo by the time Cougars won 16-0.

The Tigers’ season ended in the Region tournament against Woodbury.  The Royals won 43-8.

South finished the conference season 3-3, in a third place tie with Henry.  Overall the Tigers were 3-6.
