In the past two seasons, the Tigers surprised many people with their accomplishments.  This year was another time the Tigers were not picked to be in contention.  However, with Head Coach Amy Cardarelle at the helm, anything was possible.

The conference season opened against Washburn.  The Millers played the Tigers evenly.  In the end, the Tigers surprisingly lost, 2-1.

North, Henry and Edison all fell to the Tigers in shutouts.  The Polars lost 8-0.  The Patriots fell in a closer 4-0.  Edison was beat 13-0.

This brought the Tigers to the game against Southwest.  The Lakers pushed the Tigers to the brink.  South fell to the swarming offense of the Lakers 1-0.

The remaining conference games saw the Tigers win.  The earlier loss to Washburn was avenged 4-2.  North was destroyed 17-0.  The loss to Southwest was avenged 2-0.

The Tigers were 2-3-1 in non-conference games.  Wins were achieved over St. Paul Central, 3-0, and Duluth Denfeld, 1-0.  The Tigers and Hopkins tied 1-1.  Eastview, 5-0, Apple Valley, 1-0, and Maple Grove, 4-0, all beat the Tigers.

South finished the conference season in third place with a 4-2 record.  The season was hampered with injuries.  Two players, juniors Olivia Faison and Jennifer Velez, missed games due to concussions according to the 2008 South Yearbook.
