2005-2006 Season

Melvin Alvarez began his second season as the head coach.  Holly Kragthorpe, a new assistant coach, added to the success of the Tiger runners.

Competition-wise, the Tigers participated in more meets that and season in recent years.  They opened at the Nokomis Invitational.  The Tigers finished ninth.

The University of Minnesota hosted the Roy Griak Invitational, with many school from throughout the country participating. The Tigers finished 27th

The Tigers travelled to Duluth to participate in the Swain Invitational.  The Tigers finished in 21st. place.

At the Blaine Bengal Invitational, South claimed the title.  At the Apple Run, the Tigers finished in fifth.  A 10th place finish at the Eagle Invite, 11th place at Metro Invitational and 15th place finish at Hyland Park ended the regular season.

In post season action, the Tigers finished second at the Conference Meet.  Senior Pearl Hood was the Tigers’ top finisher in fourth place.  Laura Vaughn, eighth, Mandy Fasset, ninth, Maya Iginla, 11th, and Maureen Carlson, 12th, were the other Tigers who finished counted in the team score.

At the Region Meet, the Tigers finished in ninth place.
