Stacy Snyder and Melvin Alvarez began their second season as the coaches of the South Cross Country program.  The goal of the season was to improve over last year’s finish in the Conference Meet.

The season began with three straight sixth place finished for the team.  The Tigers placed sixth at the Nokomis Invitational, the Monticello Invitational and the Eden Prairie Invitational.

Travelling to Winona, the Tigers claimed the first place trophy at the Winona Invitational.

The toughest meet of the season was the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota where teams from all over the country participate.  The Tigers finished in 32nd place.

The regular season ended at the Rum River Run in Anoka.  The Tigers finished fourth.

At the Conference Meet, the fight for the title came down to three schools, South, Southwest and surprising Edison.  Edison shocked everyone claiming the title.  South came in second, edging Southwest by two points.  Volive Bekelcha finished third and Jesse Horst sixth, pacing the Tigers.  Eric Foley, 12th, Andrew Young, 16th, and Brian Dooley, 17th, were the other Tigers point earners.
