The 2001-2002 version of the Tiger Gymnastics Team had to overcome many things to be successful.  First, the numbers were down this year.  Second, the team was hit by a number of injuries.  Finally, the team was very young.  With all of these obstacles, Head Coach Jennifer Kolback and the team tried to defend their conference title.

South opened the conference season against Henry/North.  Even though South was young, they still pulled out a 117.35-102.6 victory.

The next meet was against the combined Roosevelt/Washburn team.  This year, the two schools combined because of low numbers.  South again won.  Next was Edison.  Again South came out on top.  Southwest also fell to the Tigers, giving the Tigers their third straight regular season title.

South participated in an invitational meet at Eden Prairie.  The Tigers finished in a respectable fourth place.

In the Conference Meet, South again came out on top, leading the conference with 126.875 points.  Southwest finished second, followed by Roosevelt/Washburn, Henry/North and then Edison.

South and Southwest again represented Minneapolis in the Twin City meet against Cretin-Derham Hall and St. Paul Highland Park.  The Injuries and youth finally caught up with the Tigers. Cretin finished in first place, with Highland Park second.  South finished in third place.
