After 32 seasons, South was looking for a new cross country coach, and they found it in the person of Stacey Snyder.  Coach Snyder believed it was appropriate to bring in South Alum, Melvin Alvarez, as the assistant coach.

The South schedule seemed a little light compared to the last few seasons.  The Tigers finished seventh at the Metro Invitational.

At the nationally-renowned Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota, the Tigers finished 22nd.

The Bloomington Jefferson Jaguar Invitational saw the Tigers finish third.

At the Rum River Run in Anoka, South came in fifth.

For the third straight season, South finished second at the Conference Meet to Southwest.  Malcolm Richards won the Silver Medal, finishing second in the individual portion of the meet. Jesse Horst was the only other Tigers to finish in the top 10, coming in ninth.

The results of the Region Meet were not reported.
