As a new season began, many believed that the fight for the conference title would be between South and North.  Head Coach Greg LaLonde and Assistant Coach Tim Davis knew North would be tough because their team was loaded with experienced seniors.

South opened the season with a 3-1 win over Washburn.  That was followed by a 3-0 win over Roosevelt.

The first match against North showed how powerful the Polars were.  North won easily, 3-0.

The Tigers bounced back against Southwest and won 3-0.  Henry and Edison also fell by the same 3-0 score.

The second half started with a closer match against Washburn, but the Millers still fell, 3-2.  In the next match, against Roosevelt,  the score and result was not reported.

North claimed the conference title in the next match, beating the Tigers 3-1.

South ended the conference season with three straight wins, a 3-1 win over Southwest, and 3-0 wins over Henry and Edison.

In non-conference matches, South finished third in the St. Paul Como Park Tournament and third at the Centennial Invitational.

South defeated Washburn for a third time in the Region Tournament, 3-2.  The Tigers lost to Fridley, 3-0.

South finished with a 9-2 conference record, second to North.
