For six straight seasons, coaches Warren Kaari and Craig Canham have created a running machine at South.  Six straight trips to the State Meet.  Six straight Region 5AA titles.  Six straight conference titles.  Hoping to add to this impressive resume in new assistant coach R. Niemec.

South opened the season hosting the Nokomis Invitational.  South finished second at this meet and at the second meet in Monticello.

South competed against some very tough schools at the Apple Valley Eagle Invitational.  The Tigers finished seventh.

After a number of years of not participating, South returned to the Burnsville Invitational where the Tigers claimed the top spot.

In the final two meets of the regular season, South finished in fifth place at Elk River and third place at the Anoka Rum River Run.

Next on the schedule was the Conference Meet.  For the seventh straight season, South claimed the title.  Second place Southwest was 56 points behind the Tigers.  South runners seven of the top 11 individual spots, including the top five! Ben Wahlstrand came home with the individual title.  He was followed in the next four spots by Paul Richter, Eric Giesen-Fields, Alex Rands, and Ben Peck.  The other who finished in the top 11 were Bill Peterson, ninth, and Chester Spears, 11th.

At the Region Meet, South claimed the Title again and advanced to the State Meet.  At State, the Tigers finished fifth.
