In order to prepare for the season, Cross Country runners try to put in as many miles as possible.  A group of runners, known as “The Rooster Club” met daily at 6 a.m. to run about three miles.  Then after school, they would show up at the team practice and run more.

Coaches Warren Kaari and Craig Canham appreciated the dedication.

In the five non-conference meets, the Tigers fared no worse than seventh, which was at Monticello.  Twice South finished fifth, at the Apple Valley Eagle Invitational and the Elk River Meet.  The Tigers pulled off a fourth place at the Nokomis Invitational and a third place finish in the Anoka Rum River Invitational.

For the fourth consecutive season, and fifth time overall, the Tigers claimed the Conference Meet title.

The Tigers finished third at the Region meet, just missing out on another chance to advance to State.  The bright spot was Senior Joan Marron who did advance to the State Meet.
